Please note: candidates wishing to enrol on the diploma courses first must be approved and accepted onto the course via Admissions before payment. Payment before an interview does not guarantee a place on the course and will be refunded if the candidate is not accepted onto the course.

Once full payment for a class has been made your place will be booked and you should receive a class confirmation no later than 2 weeks before the start of the course.

The Academy unfortunately does not accept Cash or Cheque payments.

Learner Loans

Students who are 19+, and taking a Level 3 qualification or higher, are eligible to receive an Advanced Learner Loan.

These loans help students aged 19 or above pay the fees charged by colleges and training providers for courses at Level 3, 4, 5 and Level 6. Level 3 and Level 4 courses include A levels, Access to Higher Education Diplomas and other Certificates and Diplomas.

Getting a loan does not depend on the student’s household income and there are no credit checks. Students are not eligible to make loan repayments until they are earning over £21,000 a year. Students earning over this amount will pay back 9% of the earnings they receive above this figure.

To find out more and check eligibility please click here, or email our Admissions team

Advanced Learning Loans are administered by Student Finance England (SFE). Student Finance England is a Student Loans Company service, providing financial support to learners on behalf of the UK Government. Students can apply for an Advanced Learning Loan for courses starting on or after 1 August 2016.

To apply for the Advanced Learning Loan, the student can contact our Admissions team. The student will be issued with a document confirming the course details that he or she will need when applying for the loan.

The Admissions team must receive the original approved loan letter at least 10 working daysprior to the course start date to confirm enrolment onto the course.

If you have had the loan approved to cover part of your tuition fees, you or your nominated sponsor are expected to pay the outstanding course fee amount at least 10 working days prior your course start date to confirm your enrolment onto the course.

Sponsors

If your employer or other organisation agrees to pay all or part of your course fees, the Academy will invoice them for the appropriate amount. (Please note that parents, family and friends are excluded from this category. If they assist with your fees, you are classified as self-financing and must pay the fees accordingly).

Please ensure that your employer or other organisation provides the Academy with the following information, either by an official letter on company headed paper and signed by an authorised person, or an official signed purchase order:

  • The student’s (your) full name, course name and group number.
  • The course fee amount they will pay and the academic year.
  • The name of a responsible individual, organisation and address to whom the invoice should be sent.
  • A reference (or purchase order number) to be quoted (if applicable)
  • Please send the letter to our Admissions team after you receive your course offer/learning agreement letter. The letter will be given to the Finance department who will contact your sponsor to confirm the details in the letter and process payment.

The Academy reserves the right to not accept a sponsor. The Academy reserves the right to not accept a sponsor’s letter or purchase order if the necessary information is not complete.

Full payment must be processed 10 days prior to your course start date.

If your sponsor fails to pay, or withdraws their support at any point in the year, you are still responsible for any outstanding fees and the Academy will hold you liable for this amount.

Cancellation Policy

PLEASE NOTE: We regret that we cannot offer refunds on any of our courses.

Refunds

Our courses are very popular and places are limited. If for any reason you need to cancel your place on a course then we regret that no refund can be issued. If you are booked on a course and do not turn up on the day then no refund or transfer will be given.

Short Course Transfers: Unfortunately we cannot offer short course transfers. We run our short courses based on the number of students booked in and would not be able to operate such a high quality, professional service for the price we do if we offered refunds and transfers.

If We Cancel a Course:

In the unlikely occasion that we need to cancel a course you will be offered a full refund or an alternative date. We will also always give you as much notice as possible but cannot be responsible for pre-booked travel and accommodation arrangements

Diploma Courses:

We are unable to provide refunds in cases of illness, personal problems, relocation or change of mind about enrolment which result in you having to withdraw from the course.

Where a student is enrolled and expected to pay tuition fees; if15 days prior to the course start date, their funding status changes, which results in not having to pay tuition fees, any money paid for tuition fees will be refunded to the student or sponsor. If you feel you are entitled to a refund, please contact the Admissions team who will check your refund eligibility and contact Finance.

The Finance department will notify the student of when the refund will be processed; which will usually be within 30 days of the receiving the Refund Request Form. All refunds will be made in £ sterling. Any bank charges or currency conversion costs incurred in making a refund shall be borne by the learner, sponsor or the third party receiving the payment.

If you are awarded Discretionary Learner Support Fund or any bursaries from the Academy and you withdraw from the course, you will have to pay back the fund/bursary to the Academy in one full amount immediately.

If you received the Advanced Learning Loan to cover part or the full tuition fee, the Student Loan Company (SLC) will be notified and you will be contacted directly by the SLC to discuss repayment of the loan.
