Can I apply at any age?
Course applications are open to everyone over the age of 18. Applicants over the age of 21 are classed as mature applicants.
How long is the course?
The course runs for three years full-time and face-to-face.
Can I apply if I live outside the UK?
No- currently, you must be a UK resident and/or have settled status to apply for our BA.
Is the course full time?
Yes- the course is full time. The majority of classes will be taught on campus and some sessions will be taught online.
Can I get funding?
Yes, subject to eligibility. Means tested tuition fees and maintenance loans are available to eligible applicants via Student Finance. The deadline for applications is May, 2023 and you do not need to have a University place confirmed to apply.
How do I find student accommodation?
BAJ doesn’t offer accommodation, but we can advise you where to look.
Can I work as I study for my BA?
Yes, you can have a part time job as long as you can prioritise your studies and maintain a good work/ study balance.
Will I have to buy my own jewellery making materials?
BAJ will provide you with basic essentials for jewellery making. You will need to purchase some specific resources.
Do I need to be able to draw to apply?
Proficiency in drawing is not essential to apply to the BA. However, practising your drawing will help you to visualise your ideas.
Will I write essays?
Yes, essay writing is a relatively small but essential part of the BA. If you find writing difficult, you will receive help from your tutors.
