Ring Making

COURSE OVERVIEW

In this three-day ring making workshop you will explore and experiment with a range of ring making techniques and complete 3 finished rings in sterling silver: a textured ring, a ring with a cabochon stone, and a spinner ring.

With each make, you will learn and perfect different techniques for ring manufacture, from annealing to creating a collet for a rub-over setting and finishing.

You will study as part of a small group under the guidance of one of our experienced tutors.

Day 1
Students will create a textured ring, practising annealing, texturing, shaping, soldering, sanding and polishing the ring.
Day 2
Students will create a collet for a rub-over setting and set a cabochon stone onto a ring.
Day 3
Students will create a Spinner ring to their own design.

Next dates: 17th November 2021

Course duration: Three sessions of seven hours, Monday to Wednesday, between 9:30am and 5pm. This course runs from 17th until 19th November 2021.

Number of hours: 21 hours

Delivery: This course is taught on campus in London.

Entry requirements: No previous experience is required. This course is suitable for both beginner and intermediate jewellers who have an interest in making rings with a variety of techniques.
