Ring Making

COURSE OVERVIEW

Gain practical manufacturing skills for making a range of different types of rings. Jewellery Bench Skills: Ring Making is a three-day ring manufacturing course for beginner and intermediate jewellers interested in learning how to make rings with a variety of different techniques.

During the programme, you will concentrate on specific skills for ring making and produce three finished rings in sterling silver, and two base metals. On the first day you will make a textured ring, practising skills such as annealing, texturing, shaping, soldering, sanding and polishing. On the second day, you will create a collet for a rub-over setting and set a cabochon stone onto a ring. On the last day of the programme, you will design and produce your own spinner ring.

The course is taught in small groups in the British Academy of Jewellery’s professional-level bench workshops, meaning that you can take advantage of our world-class jewellery making facilities and benefit from personalised feedback from our experienced tutors, who will be there to guide you every step of the way.
