Course description

On this five-day course, you will take on an intensive project to create all the components of a cluster ring, carving the settings by hand and assembling the parts yourself. This will involve carrying out a series of exercises designed to create muscle memory when working with hand tools, increasing the speed and accuracy of your work. Starting with exercises in hand-eye coordination, the programme will take you through the whole making process, from measuring and marking, via metal shaping, mount carving and joining, to flush setting and polishing.

Entry requirements

A good working knowledge of measuring, cutting, filing, soldering, polishing and the use of hand tools is required.
