Today, Monday 19th July 2021, lockdown restrictions across the UK are changing. At the British Academy of Jewellery, safeguarding our students is our top priority. To keep our students safe and ensure they can feel confident coming into the Academy, we will continue with our Covid-19 safeguarding measures for the rest of the summer term.
BAJ’s Jewellery Fundamentals course begins this spring. But what can students expect from this hands-on programme with lockdown restrictions? Not to worry – we’ve made all the arrangements so that aspiring jewellers joining us this spring can still expect the same world-class BAJ education.

The winning designs of BAJ’s Pins of Praise competition are now available to buy. All proceeds from sales of the 3D-printed brooches will go to NHS Charities Together.

BAJ Apprentice Megan Rigby was named the winner of the Goldsmiths’ Craft and Design Council Gold Award for junior engraving at Goldsmiths’ Hall in London on Monday evening.
We recently welcomed a group of learners from the Institut D’Enseignement des Arts Techniques Science et Artisans, IATA, from Namur in Belgium who were on an exchange programme with us.

The British Academy of Jewellery were delighted to attend the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) event in Geneva, Switzerland. Our Head of Product Development, Shirley Eden, and Centre Manager for Birmingham and Head of Watch Training Programmes, Lisa Khosla, attended the annual event and met with global professionals in the fine watch sector.
