BAJ will hold interactive events in London and Birmingham this June to connect with jewellery industry businesses and share guidance on how and why to take on an Apprentice under the new Standard. As part of its commitment to fostering growth in the UK jewellery industry, BAJ will share information on the programme, funding options, and provide IAG on the recruitment of an Apprentice for September, 2023.

The Apprenticeship Employer event will take place in London on June 14 and in Birmingham on June 22. Both events will run from 3pm to 5pm and BAJ staff will be on hand to help with completing job forms for recruitment support.

“Joining us at one of our Apprenticeship employer events is a great opportunity for employers to have their questions answered regarding Jewellery, Silversmithing and Allied Trade Professional Apprenticeships,” said Miranda Sharpe, BAJ’s Apprenticeship Coordinator and Birmingham Centre Lead. “Employers can meet the team, view the workshops and discover the benefits and practicalities of employing an Apprentice.

” The new Standard for Apprenticeships promotes a closer working relationship between employer and training provider. It also encourages apprentices to pursue specialist pathways within the industry which enables participating employers to address specific skills gaps in their business while gaining highly trained, motivated employees.

Interested employers can sign up to the events here.
