British Academy of Jewellery to hold charity jewellery auction in support of Blueprint for All

We are delighted to announce that our charity jewellery auction will run from 30th March to 4th April 2021, with all proceeds going to Blueprint for All, formerly the Stephen Lawrence Trust.

The auction will feature pieces created and donated by BAJ students, as well as professional jewellers. We would also like to invite external jewellers to donate their own creations to be sold in support of this worthwhile cause.

Founded in 1998, Blueprint for All (Stephen Lawrence Trust) seeks to combat inequality at all levels of society and fights for equal access and opportunities for everyone. Working with young people aged 13 to 30 from disadvantaged backgrounds, the trust aims to equip and inspire them to succeed in the career of their choice.

The organisation strongly believes that the rich diversity of the people of the UK should be reflected in senior managers across all industries, as well as in top politicians. The organisation’s projects work to make this possible.

BAJ’s charity jewellery auction is the latest of our initiatives that seek to effect positive change and make a difference. In October of 2020, we launched “Pins of Praise”, a range of four pins which were sold to raise money for NHS Charities Together. Pins were designed by three BAJ students and one external applicant.

The charity jewellery auction pieces will be sold through a silent auction, with bids being made through the site and via emaill. The minimum bid will be set at £10 to enhance accessibility to participation.

Donated jewellery creations can be made in any material, and there are no restrictions in terms of size or theme. However, applicants are encouraged to consider Blueprint for All’s social activism when designing their pieces.

For those interested in donating to our charity jewellery auction, please email projects@baj.ac.uk.
