Our three-day Jewellery Bench Skills: Chain Making short course will enable you to incorporate chain-making into your jewellery-making skill set while learning different styles and techniques. Chain-making is an excellent way to practise manufacturing techniques such as soldering, forming, and finishing and gain confidence in the workshop.

Entry requirements

No previous experience is necessary, but some experience with soldering and forming would be beneficial.

What you will learn

Techniques covered during the course include forming, soldering, finishing and polishing.

By the end of the course, you will:

  • Understand different styles of chains and how they are manufactured
  • Have created samples of three different styles of chain; link and loop-in-loop chain
  • Have created samples of three different styles of chain; link, loop-in-loop, and weave
