Facilities

All courses are taught in professional-quality bench workshops, CAD suites and design studios. We keep our classes small to enable you to get one-to-one tuition from our jewellery experts, ensuring you get the individual support you need to flourish in your studies and future career.

The campus has its own dedicated library for student use, housing a wide array of books on design, branding and practical techniques in addition to industry trade journals and magazines.The library has an adjacent common room area.

Between professional-quality bench studios, CAD suites and design studios, our London Chalk Farm campus provides students with a broad range of spaces in which to hone their craft. We also have self-study areas to encourage learning and provide you with a quiet place to study. You will also have access to free tea and coffee making facilities.

An area is available for student use on the 1st floor.

  • Understanding and applying the elements and principles of design including line, shape, form, colour, movement, contrast, pattern etc.
  • Introduction to jewellery terminology: anatomy of a ring, anatomy of a diamond and ring profiles

  • Creating reliefs, mark making and using mixed media to explore texture
  • Maquette making Technical drawing – line types, ISO standards and orthographic drawing
  • Introduction to jewellery illustration – colour theory, rendering metal in pencil and gouache Communicating your design journey
