British Academy of Jewellery is delighted to announce that graduate Tianne-Louise Simmons has been selected to take part in Season 2 of jewellery making TV contest All That Glitters. Chosen for her jewellery making skills and innovative designs, Tianne will compete with 7 other contestants to win this fast-paced jewellery manufacturing competition.
Tianne
Tianne graduated from BAJ’s Jewellery Design and Manufacturing Diploma in 2021 and is now working as a goldsmith. Her dad, a diamond mounter, was a major influence for her and at the age of eighteen, decided she wanted to follow in his footsteps and be a jeweller. Tianne loves to make mechanical pieces that move and says her pieces are regularly described as flamboyant.
“My experience on the show was great fun although it did get very challenging at times. Met some lovely people and got to make things that really pushed me out of my comfort zone.
I chose to participate in All That Glitters because I thought why not? I was studying at college to become a jeweller at the time and saw the show and it just really inspired me so much that I made one of the season 1 challenges a domed locket pendant… also opportunities like this don’t come around often.”
“Tianne was always such an industrious and motivated student, with so much talent and spirit, we’re so excited to see her on the show and see her passion for jewellery making in action on screen!” Said BAJ Jewellery Diplomas Programme Lead Sally Collins.
Gleaming with gemstones and precious metals, All That Glitters gives a fascinating insight into the craftsmanship and hard work that goes into creating stunning bespoke jewellery that will last forever. Hosted by the fabulous Katherine Ryan, the six-part series takes place in a specially built workshop nestled in Birmingham’s historic Jewellery Quarter, home to more jewellers than anywhere else in Europe. The Jewellery Quarter is also home to one of BAJ’s campuses. The serie’s first episode airs tonight on BBC Two at 9 pm. The show will air weekly and is also available on BBC iPlayer.
