We are delighted to announce that our students raised a total of £510 for national homeless charity Crisis.
BAJ students designed and made unique winter decorations from a range of materials in support of the charity, showcasing their range of designing and making skills learnt whilst at the Academy. The decorations were sold at events at the BAJ campuses in London and Birmingham. Festive evening events at each campus were held in December and mince pies, beverages, and festive cheer was shared as BAJ raised funds to support Crisis’ valuable work to combat homelessness. Each decoration was sold for £10 with 100% of the proceeds going to Crisis.
Following our fundraising events, local Birmingham coffee shop Urban Café Bar Kitchen exhibited a number of the decorations in the city’s Jewellery Quarter.
Crisis was founded in 1967 as an urgent response to the growing issue of homelessness in the UK. The charity works side by side with people to help them rebuild their lives and its work is particularly important in the cold winter months. The BAJ community was thrilled to support a charity which shares our values of accessibility and support for all.
The BAJ Wonderful Winter Decorations events were the latest of the Academy’s fundraising initiatives for the local community. Other recent fundraising efforts have included events for Blueprint For All and NHS Charities Together.
