BAJ Podcast summary
In this episode, Sofie is joined by John, an artist who captures movement narratives through various works of art such as artists, designers, scientists, dancers and more. John discovered his passion for sensory objects through play and the interaction that he had with the objects during it.
John loves the form of self-expression that jewellery brings and finds that giving objects movement gives them life. A previous dancer, John found that jewellery was the appropriate medium to express this life. John’s pieces are an expression of love and the self, and he values being “expressive but not ostentatious.”
With the idea of capturing movement and focusing on sensory movements, learn how BAJ integrates these practices into our curriculum. BAJ’s BA (Hons) Jewellery students took on the challenge of creating movable jewellery pieces inspired by the theme of “Connection,” designed to be worn by nine contemporary dance students from The Place.
