The British Academy of Jewellery is proud to announce the launch of its Pins of Praise design competition in support of NHS staff and volunteers working to save lives during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Open to both BAJ students and the general public, the competition challenges participants to design a brooch pin that can be sold to raise money for NHS Charities Together, a membership organisation representing and supporting over 250 NHS charities.
By opening this competition to the public, BAJ hopes to bring the wider jewellery community together as a force for good that can contribute positively to society at this challenging time. The initiative’s broader focus also allows our students to display their work alongside that of industry professionals, while providing a platform where skilled jewellers – many of whom have been affected by temporary workshop closures – can participate and put their expertise to good use.
All work will be judged by a panel of professional jewellers and NHS workers, who will select three finalists. An overall winner will then be chosen from this shortlist.
The winning design will be produced and sold through the BAJ website, with all profits going to NHS Charities Together.
