How much does each course cost?
Course fees are listed on each course page and depend on the number of teaching hours, equipment, materials, and level.
Some learners may also be eligible for government loans or for bursaries to help with costs for certain courses. You can contact our admissions team to discuss your circumstances and eligibility for funding, a loan or bursary.
No funding is available for short courses.
Can I get funding?
BAJ is committed to ensuring the accessibility of courses. Depending on your age and economic circumstances, there may be learner support funds, bursaries and Advanced Learner Loans available to provide you with financial assistance for your chosen course.
For our BA (Hons) in Jewellery Design & Manufacturing, you may be eligible to apply for student finance from the Government.
Government funding also enables us to offer a limited number of fully funded places throughout the year to diploma students aged 16-18*, and a limited number of bursaries for others. To find out if you could be eligible, talk to one of our recruitment team.
*This funding is dependent on age, economic circumstances, prior educational qualification, usual city of residence and is not available for every course intake. We recommend that you contact our admissions team to check your eligibility.

What are the entry requirements?
Each course has its own specific entry requirements. Our entry-level courses, including Jewellery Fundamentals and many of our short courses, do not require prior knowledge of jewellery-making For more advanced levels of study, previous qualifications, or prior professional experience, may be required.
All prospective diploma students are assessed through a thorough interview process so that personalised course recommendations can be made to help each learner achieve their goals.
Are your diplomas accredited?
Yes, our diploma courses are all accredited.
Our short courses are exemplary certificates and are not accredited.
Do you offer online courses or evening courses?
Is it possible to take one of the diploma courses online?
Our diploma and BA courses offer some blended learning but cannot be taken fully online, as practical, hands-on manufacturing is an essential and significant component of these courses.

How do I apply to an apprenticeship?
In order to apply for an apprenticeship at the British Academy of Jewellery, you should already be employed, or have upcoming employment agreed, with the company with which you will aim to complete your apprenticeship. The British Academy of Jewellery’s apprenticeship provision does not extend to placing prospective apprentices with employers.

Fees for international students for diploma courses are similar to those for domestic students.
